BED BUG INFESTATION PEST CONTROL VANCOUVER

About Bed Bugs

Adult bed bugs are brown oval, flattened, wingless insects which are 5-7 mm. in length and possess piercing mouthparts. Before feeding, adults are a pale yellow-brown in color. Young bed bugs are called nymphs, which are small versions of the adult. They will range in size from 1.3-5 mm. as they pass through 5 instars. The eggs are approximately 1mm. long and .5 mm. wide and pearl-coloured becoming translucent when hatched.

Bed bugs have well-defined resting sites in which many individuals from all the different life stages (adults, nymphs, and eggs) are found. Bed bugs spend the majority of their time in these harborages. Female bed bugs may live for months, producing up to 120 eggs during their lifetime.
